The authorities resented his participation in the 2020 protests and making a joke that he attacked Belarusian special forces with HIMARS systems, &#8220;but, unfortunately, he does not keep such a thing in his garage.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Recognized as a political prisoner on February 6, 2023.<\/p>\n<p><strong>On April 28, 2023, the Pier\u0161amajski District Court issued a decision in his criminal case. Sentence \u2013 1.5 years of imprisonment in a low-security penal colony.<\/strong> Ivan (Jan) Maroza\u016d was convicted under part 1 of Art. 342 of the Criminal Code (organization or active participation in group actions that grossly violate public order) for participating in peaceful protests against the falsification of election results in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>He was serving his sentence in PC No. 17.<\/p>\n<p>Released on April 17, 2024.<\/p>\n<p>In June 2025, it became known that Ivan (Jan) Maroza\u016d had been detained again \u2014 under Article 368 of the Criminal Code (insulting the president of the Republic of Belarus).
