Palina Pitkievič – writer, journalist.
Born: 1994. Education: Graduated from the Faculty of Journalism, specializing in Creative Writing.
Her arrest became known on 24 February 2025.
On 7 March 2025, the Minsk City Court will begin the criminal case hearing in which Palina Pitkievič is accused under Part 3, Article 361-1 of the Criminal Code (participation in an extremist formation). The State Security Committee (KGB) considers Palina Pitkievich involved in the “extremist formation” MediaIQ—a Press Club Belarus project that enhances media literacy.
Palina Pitkievič wrote journalistic articles on cultural topics and performed as an actress at the Social Theatre Laboratory in Minsk.
She took third place in the “Nieba z saboju” literary competition organized by PEN Belarus as part of the Uładzimir Karatkievič Traveling Festival in 2020.
She was the laureate of the “Ex Libris” Literary Award in 2016.
Her works were published in the Dziejasłoŭ magazine.
